Dot NAME Domain Names

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other designations people are popular by. At first, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to obtain john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing third-level names remained running.

Through our firm, you can purchase your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to alter the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no specific regulations on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
